Cancer in the Older Person
In 2014, people aged 65 and over were estimated to account for more than half of new cancer cases diagnosed, and three quarters of cancer related deaths. Many of this cohort live with cancer for a number of years, some with complex needs requiring long term and comprehensive interventions.
This program will highlight the specific issues experienced by the older person living with cancer in the Grampians Region, and report on innovative models of care that provide supportive care to this cohort.
