People, like drums, are different, and we have our own unique rhythm and energy when we play the drums, whether alone or in a group. Drumming isn't just about hitting the skin; it's about collaboration, both with your own drum as with the others in the circle. Learn to channel and feel the power that flows with the beats, a rhythmic journey where we connect to the energy and let go and "let play".
Jacob H. Lund, with many years of experience as a professional drummer in several bands, including Virelai, Heilung, Asynje, and Huldre, will teach you the necessary techniques to explore the drum as an instrument. He will also assist you in finding your own rhythms and sounds that feel most authentic to you.
Inger J. Tromborg Syverud has been building drums for over 20 years and uses the drum as a ritual and shamanic tool in her practice. She will share her her knowledge on how to use the drum to shift between alternative states of consciousness.

Rhythm is everywhere:
you will find it in your footsteps, in the beating of a bird's wings, in the wind playing with the branches of a tree, in the pulsing of your blood... and in the return again and again to each solstice and equinox. It could be said that all the rhythms that we make with our hands are simply reflections of these experiential rhythms.
There are many uses for the drum besides getting into trance, and during this course we explore a couple of them. Jacob Hee Lund, a master of percussion, will show us the many ways one can play a drum, drawing out its wide range of voices. In the afternoon and the dark of the evening we will set out to put these techniques to use - bringing us further on our journey with our own drums.
