NC Outdoor Adventures (NCOA) is bringing guests an opportunity to join us on a tour of the best fall color views we have to offer. The tour drives guests to various hiking locations among waterfalls, swim holes and mountain tops for a plethora of different views of fall colors. Get extra adventurous and hop in for an early polar plunge. This adventure trip will explore mountain elevations ranging from 2k to a little over 5k feet, giving guests color changes to see the entire fall season with lunch & a sweet treat included! Food options for hike 1: is a charcuterie spread and picnic style lunch at Carolina Hemlocks. Hike 2 food includes a bonfire picnic at NCOA Outpost that includes homemade pulled pork BBQ, slaw, Brunswick stew, and a vegetarian option of 2 ginger & teriyaki marinated portobello burgers. The beauty of fall in WNC is captured perfectly on this tour. Two different hike options allow guests to participate in an easy or moderate hiking experience. Hike 1 takes place at the start of NC’s leaf-peeping season. Leaf lookers can enjoy two waterfalls with EASY hiking along NC’s tallest peaks at Mount Mitchell! This trip features a stop at the Carolina Hemlocks along the Toe River for spectacular river views and an optional polar plunge! If you have mobility issues or want a more relaxing tour, we suggest this adventure for easy hiking. Hike 2 takes place around NC and TN’s border, during peak leaf peeping season. This adventure features the Toe River, a waterfall with swim hole for a daring pre-polar plunge option, and some off-the-beaten-path hiking, and hidden gems throughout the Toe River Valley. Guests should expect easy to moderate hiking, with some steep elevation gain in some areas with this tour. Where: Trip 1 meets at the Carolina Hemlocks.
