In this 3 day camp we will be focusing on the art of upcycling.Upcycling is a great way to repurpose material AND get creative. For this camp we are going to focus on taking a t-shirt and either adding on a skirt to make it a dress, or adding scrap fabric to the exterior and give it a whole new look!This is an ALL LEVELS camp. If a student does not know how to operate a sewing machine, that will be taugh the first day. If a student does know how to sew confidently, they will start their design the first day.Class runs:December 29th-31st1pm - 4pm each dayAGES: 8-14Pricing:$200/ individual(If you are interested in paying through, Zelle, Apple Pay, cash, or check, please reach out separately)Class size: 6 studentsProject: Upcycling (students are highly encouraged to bring preloved clothing to give a new life to)Join us for a 3 day camp of fun, new friendships, and education with textiles!Class includes:-Use of sewing machines, tools, fabric, and other materials-Water and snacks, though we encourage students to bring their own reusable water bottles.-Take home multiple projects that are created in class***Students are allowed to use their own clothing and/or fabric but we will also provide matierals if needed.Other Important information:In the event that a student gets sick:-They are to stay home until they feel better.-Notify us as soon as possible -There are no make up dates for class. If a student does not finish their project, the option of schduleing a private lesson is allowed.-Once a class has been paid for, any money that has been given to the studio is non-refundable**** EXCITING ADDITON TO THIS CLASS:The Studio Bakersfield and In Your Wildest Dreams present: Revive the Runway 2026, an upcycled fashion competition.Happening March 7th, 2026 we are putting on a upcyled fashion show competition and showcase. Although the competition is for ages 14+, there is a Jr showcase for ages 8-13. The show is open for anyone in Bakersfield to participate but students that join this winter upcycle camp are highly encouraged to participate in Revive the Runway with what they create in camp!
