Kieron Walquist [he/they] is the author of OUR HANDS HOLD VIOLENCE, a National Poetry Series winner + 2026 finalist for the Norma Farber First Book Award. A 2026 Unbound Emerging Poet honoree, his work appears in Northwest Review, Poet Lore, The Rumpus + elsewhere. He has received fellowships from FAWC, Monsoon Arts, OSGF, VCCA + VSC. A PhD student at the University of Utah, he lives in Salt Lake City.

Open to the public, and everyone is welcome (ages 14 and up.) No need to register in advance. Signup for the open mic begins at 6:45 pm. Poets will be asked to keep their readings to two minutes. Refreshments provided!

Bainbridge Open Mic at the Library is sponsored by the Bainbridge Island Poet Laureate Program, the Bainbridge Public Library, and the Bainbridge Artisan Resource Network (BARN), with funding support from the Bainbridge Community Foundation, One Call for All, and the City of Bainbridge Island.
