Do you have a 4x4 and headed to 14er Fest?!? Join Juniper Overland and RCI Offroad for a backcountry dirt route on your way to Buena Vista. The Rally to 14er Fest is a free group trail ride that starts on Thursday, September 25th, the day before 14er Fest begins. We will meet in Bailey, CO at 8:00am and travel a 150 mile route, 135 of which is offroad, ending in Buena Vista on Friday morning in time for the festival kickoff. The route includes dirt roads, mountain passes, and Aspen Ridge, which is rated as a moderate 3/10 trail and requires at least a stock SUV with high clearance and 4WD low range. We will make a fuel stop in Lake George, but all participants must arrive in Bailey with a full tank of gas. Trail leaders will be on radio, and participants are encouraged to bring their own GMRS, FRS, or ham radios to stay in contact. This is a bring-your-own-gear and self-sufficient rally, meaning you are responsible for your own vehicle, recovery equipment, food, water, and camping setup. Juniper Overland and RCI Offroad will provide dinner for participants on Thursday night at our group campsite. This will be an all-day trail ride, so please plan accordingly with supplies and layers for weather.
