12 Stones Adventures in partner with the Eldorado Outpost is hosting family friendly adventures within the Uwharrie National Forest.

Little River paddle to Capelsie Mill Dam August 9, 2025 meeting at the Outpost to sign a waiver and leaving at 7:00 am. We'll get an early start to try and beat the heat. Please bring snacks, plenty of water for the day, and dress modest but accordingly. Pfd's are required to be worn at all times, no exceptions. Explore coves, rocky outcrops, and spot birds and wildflowers along the way. This is a flat-water experience, so it should not be too strenuous of a float. If you don't have a kayak and want to paddle with us we might be able to provide you one at no charge, limited availability. Event subject to change pending weather and water conditions. Put In: WRC Troy Boat Ramp at 2832 Pekin Road, Candor NC.

Paddle Route: Put in at the Pekin Road Access and paddle to Capelsie Dam approx 4 miles out and back.
