Stòras a’ Bhaile - August 2026 
Highland Village Gaelic Immersion Folklife School

You are invited to join us at Stòras a’ Bhaile, a five-day Gaelic Immersion Folklife School at Highland Village, scheduled for Tuesday, August 18 to Saturday, August 22, 2026.  The program will take place on the grounds of the Highland Village and include a day trip to Beinn Mhàbu. Sessions will run from 9:30AM to 4PM.  There'll be songs, stories, tales, chatting, history, fun, friendship, and learning.  
 
This year we are excited to host Stòras a’ Bhaile during Fèis an Eilein. This collaboration will allow participants to take part in evening activities in Christmas Island, including a milling frolic, symposium, and dance.  

Guest leaders and facilitators for Stòras a’ Bhaile 2026 include Dr. John Shaw, University of Edinburgh, Gaelic singer, Mary Jane Lamond, Shannon MacMullin, Office of Gaelic Affairs, Dr. Shamus Y. MacDonald, Baile nan Gàidheal, members of the Gaelic resource team at Highland Village, and Gaelic-speaking friends.  

The cost for the five-day event is $100. For those who wish to stay in the area overnight, self-catering accommodations may be available for an additional cost ($300). 

Pre-registration is necessary as the program can accommodate a maximum of 20 participants. Priority will be given to residents of Nova Scotia. To register, fill out this form:
