The route is approximately 12.4 miles round-trip with 650ft of elevation gain, on a complex car-free bike trail adjacent to the West Fork San Gabriel River located in the Los Angeles National Forest.This ride will start and finish at the West Fork parking lot adjacent to the West Fork National Scenic Bikeway. Due to the length, this ride is not recommended for anyone under the age of 12.Driving Instructions: From Interstate 210 in the City of Azusa, take Highway 39/Azusa Avenue exit and head north. Continue on Azusa Ave/Highway 39 (past downtown Azusa, past the Forest Service's San Gabriel Entrance Station, past the San Gabriel and past Morris Reservoirs). After about 7 miles from 210, you will see a bridge to your right - continue north past that bridge. Continue straight on Highway 39 for another 1.5 miles, past the OHV area. There are parking areas just before and just past the West Fork National Bikeway Trailhead - if parking is available park in the second parking lot (which is gated) adjacent to West Fork National Bikeway Trailhead.Parking & the Adventure Pass: Please consider carpooling as there is limited parking! You will need to display an Adventure Pass when parking at the gated West Fork Trailhead.We will provide 20 National Adventure Forest Passes, one per car (CARPOOLING IS ENCOURAGED) - issued adventure passes will only be valid for the day of the ride - 3/14/26.
