Shibori is joyful, messy, and full of surprises—there’s no such thing as a mistake, only happy accidents!Our friendly tutor will guide you through the process of indigo, resist-dyeing and you’ll get to mix & match techniques to create your own original samples. To ensure you’re fully prepared for the workshop, please wear old or dark clothing and bring along an old white t-shirt or tote bag made from 100% natural fibres (such as cotton, bamboo, hemp or linen) to dye. It’s also a good idea to have a waterproof bag handy for taking your finished samples home.While the dye vat works its magic, you’ll enjoy a light lunch from our café, Shape downstairs at 32 Newmarket st (delicious soup & handmade sourdough).Your tutor for the session, Dianne Spottiswood Miller, is a fashion-textile designer based in Edinburgh, with extensive experience working alongside organisations such as Edinburgh Remakery, The National Museum of Scotland, and the Edinburgh International Book Festival.
