We are honored to welcome Khalisa Rae Thompson to Lyrical Elevation: The Soul Sessions on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Badu Lounge.

Khalisa Rae Thompson is an author, poet, teaching artist, cultural strategist, and community organizer, and Co-Founder of the Griot & Grey Owl Black Southern Writers Conference—a visionary voice shaping Black Southern literary futures through story + care.
She is the author of Ghost in a Black Girl’s Throat (Red Hen Press), available at Mahogany Books and Amazon.
