The Avondale Arts Alliance is pleased to present the second annual FREE clothing & gift swap at the Avondale Arts Center!
On Wednesday, December 10, 2025, you are invited to stop by and “shop” through donated clothing and gifts between 6-8pm.
Why do we do this? It’s simple: to respond to the needs of our community.
There’s no denying that times are tight for many of us these days, and we want to help. We can do so by hosting a free swap that enables folks to clear out their closets and homes before receiving new gifts of their own, and also can provide opportunities to find free gift-worthy items to ease the financial burden of the holidays.
How it works:
Collect clean, good condition clothing (no underwear please!) and giftable items (think unlit candles, home goods, toys, books, media, etc.) and drop them off with us on Monday 12/08 and Wednesday 12/10, outside our front doors all day.
We are also open on Monday night 12/08 during the Avondale Estates Tree Lighting next door, and you can drop off inside during the hours of 6-8pm.
NOTE: NO DROP OFFS ON TUESDAY 12/09 - there is a private event in the gallery that day. Thank you for your understanding.
If you plan to bring your items with you to the swap, you may do so, but we ask that you arrive between 6-6:30 and set out your own items, neatly.
How to shop:
Bring a tote bag or grocery bags and look through the piles of items and clothes. You may take as many items as you like, no limitations!
Pro-tip: if you plan to try on clothes, consider wearing a thin layer like leggings and a camisole so that you can try things on top without getting undressed. We do have one bathroom as well as an additional pseudo-changing room, but it’s always easier and less waiting if you can try things on in the main space.
Kids are welcome, however we ask that you keep a close eye on them during your visit.
You do not have to donate in order to shop, and you don’t have to shop in order to donate.
