About the band:
After School Surf Club is the brainchild of two Cape Hatteras locals: Eli Thompson (vocals, guitar, spaceship) and Sam Smith (vocals, saxophone). Eli and Sam began their musical journey together during an impromptu jam with mutual friends. Their quirky and improvisational styles immediately wove together to form what is the foundation of After School Surf Club's unique sound; a blend of indie rock, jazz and R&B with a 'Beach Boys' flavor.
Though Eli Thompson does a bulk of the writing and producing for After School Surf Club's original material, the band truly takes on quite the local "club" shape. The duo is often joined by members Liam Farmer (Bass Guitar), Lisa Cooper (Guitar, Flute, Violin, Vocals), Mark Skelton (Percussion) and may more friends on the island.
The ethos of After School Surf Club is to have a good time and include everyone; a vibe that becomes self-evident when you attend one of their infectiously joyful live shows!
