Yoga Bio – Claudia Vasconcelos

Claudia Vasconcelos began practicing meditation and yoga in 1998. Before that, she was certified as a massage therapist and later completed her certification as a Clinical Ayurveda Specialist at the California College of Ayurveda. In 2006, she graduated from the 500-hour Teacher Training Program at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco and has been teaching ever since.

In 2008, Claudia traveled to India to study directly with B.K.S. Iyengar and his family, an experience that deeply enriched her understanding of yoga as a lifelong path of self-awareness and devotion.

She is also certified by Elise Browning Miller as a Yoga for Scoliosis and Back Care Specialist, and she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Brazil.

As a teacher, Claudia’s intention is that her students leave each class feeling rejuvenated—integrating body, mind, and spirit. She believes that yoga practice is ultimately rooted in self-observation and mindful presence.
