Dear Community,
We invite you to come Celebrate our 50th Anniversary + Winter Solstice with us on Friday, December 19, 2025 from 6pm-8pm.
I
t’s going to be a jolly good time! We’ll reflect on all the things we’re grateful for— and also what we’re hopeful for in the coming year. Our featured performers are singer/songwriter Laura Freeman and poet/activist Abe Louise Young.
We’ll be open a little later, so come raise a glass and enjoy sweet and savory treats as you shop. Thank you for your support for these many years!
p.s. SAVE THE DATE: Our BIG bash, Read & Rock: the 40/50 Party- will be held on January 24th.
Abe Louise Young is a writer, educator, and activist from Austin whose work weaves creativity with community transformation. She writes widely in the poetry and essay forms and gratitude is her favorite state of mind. She'll lead some fun, collective thank you rituals for BookWoman's rich, deep presence and share a few classic, world-changing feminist poems.
Laura Freeman is a life long songwriter. Songs for theatre, songs for children, songs for life. She’ll be singing songs about the joys of menopause and a protest song written for her protest choir the Democrasingers.
