THROWDOWN IN THE KITCHEN, a Southern-Style Cooking Class
Join us in the kitchen in celebration of Black History Month as 3 small plates’ Chef JRodi teaches how to Throwdown in the Kitchen, a Southern-Style Cooking Class on Saturday, Feb. 23 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Cook’s Nook.
Dipping into her family’s recipes, inspired by her grandmother, mother and aunts, Chef JRodi’s brings a Texas twist plus the heart and soul of Southern Cooking.
In this fun, hands-on class, you'll learn to ‘put your foot in a dish’ (leave nothing on the table, because it's in the dish) in a weekend lunch plus dessert guaranteed to give you ‘burning’ rights (signifying just how a-w-e-s-o-m-e you are in the kitchen), for a big hit with your family and friends.
Whatever we cook together; we'll eat together, family-style with a special time set aside to have your cooking questions answered by the chef. Each student leaves with a copy of the recipes.
Our Lunch Menu:
Southern Fried Catfish
Sweet Potato Medallions
Fried Cabbage & Greens
All tools, equipment and aprons are provided. Students should wear comfortable clothes with closed-in-shoes as standing is required to work in this class. Also, tie back long hair. Classes are for students 18 years or older.
