Rites of Pagan Stagecraft w/ Matt Needles
Del Close, the godfather of our improv tradition, was a pagan who believed that an improv performance could take on the intensity and deep meaning of a ritual in which the performers become like gods onstage. But how do you reconcile that with the practical work of creating improv? In this workshop, we'll explore the outer reaches of group mind and how committing unconditionally to what's happening makes our performance stronger, sharper, and more focused. To the audience what we do looks like magic. What if we treated it like it was?
