Join photojournalist Leonardo Carrizo for a discussion of his documentary series on Ecuador's Diablada Pillareña festival, part of the "Dancing with Devils: Latin American Mask Traditions" traveling exhibit currently on view at the Teresa Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies.
This event takes place in SRH 1.313 and portions of the third-floor hallway of SRH 1 (LLILAS).
Carrizo will provide a guided tour of his photographs, share insights into the making of the series, explore the roles and symbolism of the festival’s characters, and discuss the ethical considerations of documenting cultural traditions. The session will be interactive, inviting audience questions and reflections.
