They gathered in homes, around tables, over actual meals. A Crowded Table is a return to that — dinner and a liturgy, in the same room. Here's what the night is: we eat together, we read some prayers aloud, and there are prompts at every seat for the kind of conversation that doesn't usually happen over dinner. You don't have to share anything you don't want to, but the invitation is open. You can come alone — most people do — and leave having actually talked to someone.Every ticket includes dinner and a copy of Faithfully Dissident Daughters (Westminster John Knox Press), Chelsea's debut — a memoir and theology of staying in a tradition as a dissident rather than leaving it or going quiet. This is the Austin stop on a small fall tour of these dinners. Learn more at faithfullydissident.com.The detailsSaturday, October 17.
