CIMA: Conference on Instruction for Multilingual Advancement
The Conference on Instruction for Multilingual Advancement is a two day event designed to empower anyone who serves language learners.
CIMA will be packed with breakout sessions, featured speakers and keynotes delivered by experts from the field and industry leaders. Whether registering for a single-day experience or the full conference, participants will leave feeling equipped and empowered to improve learning outcomes for students acquiring languages.
Who should attend?
Participants who would benefit from CIMA include:
Bilingual classroom teachers, ESL teachers, LOTE teachers*, Gen. Ed. teachers serving ELLs in the classroom, Secondary content-based teachers serving ELLs in the classroom, Interventionists, SpED teachers whose students include ELLs, Administrators serving campuses whose student body includes ELLs or LOTE courses, Central Office staff seeking to build expertise in serving ELLs or students in LOTE classrooms.
*Yes, you read correctly - CIMA is also for LOTE (Languages other than English) teachers and we’ll have ample session offerings to serve this important group of educators!
Information on specifics for each will be released in stages leading up to CIMA. All featured speakers and keynotes will be announced with enough notice for participants to put together a “set-list” for their CIMA experience. The vast majority of breakout sessions will be released before the conference as well.
