Join author Elizabeth McCracken, author and professor of English at the University of Texas at Austin, for the launch of her book A Long Game: Notes on Writing Fiction (2025). She will be in conversation with Greg Marshall and Lucas Schaefer, two brilliant writeres who studies with Elizabeth at UT. Book sales, a signing, and a reception will follow the program.
This program is co-sponsored with the Texas Book Festival.
McCracken is the author of four novels, three collections of short stories, and a memoir. Her stories have won three Pushcart Prizes, two National Magazine Awards, and have appeared in five editions of The Best American Short Stories and on three episodes of Selected Shorts. A Long Game: Notes on Writing Fiction will be published in December.
A National Endowment for the Arts Fellow in Prose, Greg Marshall is a graduate of the Michener Center for Writers. His memoir, Leg, was a finalist for a Lambda Literary Award and the Randy Shilts Award. He lives in Austin with his family.
Lucas Schaefer lives with his family in Austin. The Slip is his first novel.

Doors to our theater will open approximately 30 minutes before the event begins. No food or beverages are allowed inside our theater or gallery space.
