We will be meeting at the Hancock Recreation Center, 811 E 41st St, on December 11th at 6:30pm. This time we will be doing the Lumberjack or Buffalo Plaid as a cane. It's usually thought of as a fall/winter plaid but really can be used anytime. It is a 2 color plaid but you can use what you learn to create bigger plaids. The purpose of the class is to make the cane but you can bring something to use it on, if you wish.
Again, we will try to supply what you need but I will need an RSVP so I know how much to bring. If you want to attend and use your own supplies, that's fine too.
Supplies for class (whatever you need can be supplied if you RSVP):
- 2 oz red and 2 oz black
- work surface
- acrylic roller
- extruder with a small square disc or something to cut the clay in a square (e.g. ruler or ruled mat w/blade)
- clay blade (or other cutter)
- something to take home your uncured clay (like deli sheets or 3x5 cards)
- wipes for clean up (supplied)
Optional supplies for class:
- pasta machine (helpful but not necessary)
- deli sheets (I will bring some)
- cutters or molds if you wish to form something there
- reading glasses (if needed)
Supplies for home:
- oven for curing the clay
- whatever you want to put the clay on (e.g. wood ornaments)
Again, if you respond to the email or Facebook event with what supplies you need, I will be glad to bring extra.
See you there,
Michele
