- **Event Description**: Tickets are live for our next Cocktails in Cool Places, which takes us just beyond Denver's borders to one of the metro area's most distinctive historic buildings: the Aurora Fox Theater. Built in 1946 from a surplus U.S. Army Quonset hut dressed up with a sleek Art Moderne entrance and a 61-foot neon sign, the Fox is one of fewer than 100 Quonset hut movie theaters ever built in the U.S., and one of only a handful still in operation today. It served as Aurora's only movie palace throughout the 1950s and 60s.
 
After decades of decline and a devastating 1981 fire, the community rallied to save the beloved landmark. It reopened in 1985 as a performing arts center and still anchors the East Colfax arts district today, its iconic neon sign newly restored and relit in 2024.
