Aurora Winter Blues Festival: Glenn Marais’ Jook

Glenn Marais is a celebrated Canadian bluesman whose powerful voice and poignant songwriting tackle injustice with heart and soul. A Juno-nominated artist and internationally recognized advocate, Glenn has performed across the globe—from South Africa to Memphis—and collaborated on one of Canada’s most played radio hits, “Everybody Wants to Be Like You.”
His latest work, Jook: The Story of the Blues, is a stirring tribute to the roots of the blues and the resilience of Black communities during the Great Migration. Marais blends history, lived experience, and music into a moving journey of struggle, strength, and liberation.
