The Blessing of the Waters service – casting and retrieval of the Cross – will be celebrated at the Shrimpers and Boat Builders Monument (117 Dockside Drive, St. Augustine) at 1:00pm.           

The Feast of the Holy Theophany (Epiphany) is celebrated each year on January 6. The Feast commemorates the Baptism of Christ and the divine revelation of the Holy Trinity. At the Baptism of Christ, all three Persons of the Holy Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—were made manifest. Thus, the name of the Feast is Epiphany, meaning manifestation, or Theophany, meaning manifestation of God.

The Blessing of the Water is conducted in the church. As a sign of blessing as Christ blessed the Jordan, holy water is poured into the body of water. An associated tradition has been the tossing of a cross into the open body of water.

9:00 – 12:00 noon:  Church Services – Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church (2940 CR 214, St. Augustine).  Coffee/social hour to follow. 
12:00 – 1:00 pm:  Relocation from Holy Trinity; set-up at the Shrimpers and Boat Builders Monument
1:00 – 1:30 pm:  The Blessing of the Waters service – Shrimpers and Boat Builders Monument (117 Dockside Drive, St. Augustine)  
 
Additional Information
•  The memorial is located off US 1 in St. Augustine just south of the intersection of SR207 and US 1. 
•  Turn East on Iroquois St. across US 1 (Ponce de Leon Blvd) from the Winn Dixie Plaza and continue to Cherokee St., past the warehouses, turning right in to St. Augustine Shipyards. 
•  Use any available parking spaces in the Windward Marine parking area for the duration on the brief service. 
•  DO NOT PARK in any of the designated parking spaces behind and west of Asado Life Restaurant. Your car could potentially be towed. 
•  Please carpool to minimize the number of parking spaces needed. 
•  There will not be any further activities after casting and retrieval of the Cross.
