INTRODUCTION: Major General Charles M. Walker, The Air National Guard Assistant to The Judge Advocate General, United States Air Force, cordially invites and encourages all Air National Guard officers, NCOs, and other Airmen to attend the upcoming CBI course scheduled for 24-25 April 2026. All ranks and civilian staff are welcome. The course is being hosted by 110th Wing, Michigan Air National Guard. All instruction will take place at Fort Custer Education and Training Center, 2501 26th Street, Augusta, MI 49012.
OVERVIEW: This course is designed to make the Air National Guard a more professional and formidable force. The primary goal of the course is to prepare Air National Guard officers, NCOs, and future leaders to work as a team to identify, address, and effectively resolve contemporary base issues in accordance with law and Air National Guard policy. Educational areas of emphasis include status, military discipline, ethics, standards, readiness, mental health, sexual assault, domestic operations, and leadership. These topics are addressed via lecture and student interaction over a two-day period. The CBI cadre’s goal is to make the course the most educational and rewarding experience possible. Many attendees over the years have described CBI as the best professional development course they have attended in their career. We will do all we can to ensure you have an equally exceptional experience.
ORDERS/FUNDING/UOD: This announcement supports justification for orders to attend the course. Local unit training (not school) funds should be used. The Uniform of the Day is OCP, flight suit, or any combination of blues. Most students and the CBI cadre wear OCPs.

TRAVEL/LODGING: Each registrant is responsible for their own travel reservations. If applicable, travel days to and from the course location are 23 and 26 April.

LANDING FEE/ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The host-unit registration team will collect a voluntary landing fee to cover lunches, light snacks and beverages available on Friday and Saturday. Payment of the landing fee is required for attendees partaking in refreshments. All meals will be on your own during the course. There are several eateries in and around the course venue within reasonable driving distance. Note-taking/reference materials will be provided. No preliminary work is required to attend this course. Registration will be open by 0630 hours on Friday, 24 April, at the venue to allow all attendees enough time to check-in, receive course materials, and be in a seat by the start of the course at 0730 hours. Instruction ends at approximately 1630 hours each day. Please arrive ready to learn, interact, and participate. We will do our best to put on a great course.
