A Celebration of the Season with the Augusta Symphony Orchestra! Two performances - Saturday, December 13th at 7PM and Sunday, December 14th at 3PM. Admission is free! Concert length approximately 90 minutes with intermission.
The Augusta Symphony Orchestra invites you to celebrate the magic of the holidays with two performances at South Parish Church, 9 Church Street in Augusta. Join us for a festive program filled with timeless classics and holiday favorites.
Under the direction of Conductor and Music Director Jinwook Park, the ASO will present a concert filled with warmth, variety, and festive spirit. The concert begins with Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 2—a showcase of Baroque virtuosity featuring Sarah Heimberg (trumpet), Michael Albert (recorder), Anne McKee (violin), and Necia Enoch (oboe) as soloists.
The celebration continues with Tchaikovsky’s beloved Nutcracker Suite, bringing the enchanting sounds of the season to life—from the graceful “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” to the exuberant “Trepak.” Audiences will also enjoy Christmas at the Movies, a lively medley of favorite film scores that capture the spirit of the holidays on the silver screen.
To conclude the concert, the orchestra will be joined by singers from Coda Chorus for a rousing performance of Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus—a triumphant finale that’s sure to lift hearts and voices alike.
Experience the warmth, wonder, and joy of the season with the Augusta Symphony Orchestra. This holiday tradition is perfect for the whole family and a beautiful way to celebrate the music that brings us together.
