This event is generously funded by Foundation North and Auckland Council.Sunday 24th May 2026⌚️11:30am - 4:00pmPlease arrive at least 15mins prior and check in at the tent if you are kayaking. If you are running late please call 0275774102🚣 On the Water– Explore Mōtū Manawa Marine Reserve and the tidal reaches of Te Auaunga Oaklet Creek by kayak with Mountains to Sea Conservation Trust, Friends of Oakley Creek, and Auckland Sea Kayaks. Learn about the work of local community groups to preserve this waterway, observe local wildlife, and help keep the awa clean by removing rubbish. (Registration required)🌞 Weather call -Sea conditions permitting - we will run with light rain. A final weather call will be made the afternoon prior to the event. Cancellation due to weather will be communicated via email or eventbrite.🎟 Registrations -Children younger than 10 will not be able to participate in the kayaking activity but all ages are welcome to participate in the nature art, weaving and freshwater workshops.Children aged 10-13 need to have a confident adult in the back of their kayak. Children under 16 need an adult companion.Prior kayak experience and swimming ability is required for the kayaking activity.Please note that the maximum weight for the sea kayaks is 120kg per person.Early kayak access codes for people living in the local area will be circulated to local pages, or email callum@mountainstosea.org.nz to access (please reference the suburb you live in).
