(ISC)² Auckland Chapter: The RedShield Story / Cybersecurity Dragons Den
COMPETING ON THE GLOBAL STAGE FROM NZ / CYBERSECURITY DRAGONS' DEN
Andy Prow, CEO and Co-Founder of RedShield Security is our guest speaker for February. RedShield is a globally expanding cyber-security company, winner of two HiTech Awards in 2017, and the iSANZ InfoSec Company of the Year 2016.
Andy is the winner of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2017 Services Business category and will be presenting the RedShield story so far. From a BSc Hons in Computer Science and Software Engineering, to software development roles at Vodafone, IBM, Telecom and small start-ups, to starting and selling Aura InfoSec and onto RedShield.
It's a story that starts with a couple of guys in a garage, and includes lots of code, a few drinks, and an Aston Martin. The journey includes many sleepless nights, hundreds of thousands of airmiles, some epic mistakes and most importantly some great wins.
If you're looking to build a cybersecurity business from NZ, this is the session to attend for advice and guidance on going global.
CYBERSECURITY DRAGONS' DEN
If you're full of fabulous ideas for a new security product or service come pitch your idea to Andy and our other Dragons' Den judges on the night. We're keen to hear from anyone - inventors, jaded security folks, students starting out - who think they may have the perfect new concept. No NDAs required but an excellent opportunity to get feedback on your idea to bolster security in NZ and further afield.
Your idea or concept could be a product, service, shared resource such as CTI, a subscription service, specialised reseller or a dedicated recruitment agency for cyber talent. Have a think and let us know if you're keen to pitch. Please note: we won't have a huge pile of investment cash on hand ready to kickstart your dreams.
