We will lead you through a number of kēmu (games) where you will learn some basic reo (Māori language) and whakapapa (genealogy) and tikanga (customs), all delivered in Te Taiao (nature)Ako Hoe Waka:The team from Mātātoa - Time 2 Train will lead you through on shore drills where you will learn some basic reo (Māori language), and tikanga (Māori customary practices) in preparation for the unique experience of paddling a waka.All ages are welcome, and even the little ones can sit between older participants, and are not required to paddle, however, all those aged 7+ are expected to paddle.- Cost: Free- Lifejackets and paddles provided.- All ages are welcome.
