This year, we’re honouring the South American Legacy of the chilli pepper, the heart of the spice of our Village eateries! Join us as we track the incredible journey of the chilli from its ancient roots straight to the streets of Birkenhead Village!

We invite you to enjoy our Latin Fiesta Day of the Chilli! Back by popular demand, the mariachis will open the fiesta and will be joined by World Champion Salsa, Tango and Cha Cha fun family day full of authentic Latin flavour! Showcases of Brazilian Capoeira, Bachata, Cuban Rhumba, Chilean & Mexican folk groups.

For the kids, join in the fun of sweet churros, face painting, special guest Dora, and finishing with a piñata at 3!

From world-class footwork to mouth-watering street food, we’re bringing the spirit of South America to your doorstep! Begin the day with us at 10, with Latin food trucks visiting to celebrate the origin of the chilli, before the dancing and music begins at 11 across our three activity hubs!

Don't miss out on the Tapas Trail from 3-5pm! Embark on a culinary journey like no other. Grab your passport from participating tapas trail stores and explore local participating eateries serving up limited-edition Chilli Tapas. Celebrating all varieties of chillies, our village chefs have crafted bite-sized masterpieces to celebrate the Day of the Chilli!

Make sure to stay until the end, dancing in the streets with the Divas from 5-6, and music continuing for you to dine by until 8pm!
