Working alongside the Cheltenham Beach Caretakers, we'll be carrying forward a long-running monitoring project to conduct the first survey since 2021. Together we'll search for the tiny creatures that call the beach home and build a better picture of the health of this special coastal ecosystem.

Cheltenham Beach has been protected by a rāhui since 1993. Ongoing monitoring is an important part of understanding and caring for this unique environment.

This is an activity for all ages and abilities. By taking part, you'll contribute to citizen science and help support our long-term environmental monitoring.
