Welcome to the Beerathon 2025!
This event is in its 14th year 💯🙌 It is a beer marathon with 8 pub stops. The idea is, we all run the same course, the faster runners get to the next pub first and order, we have a crossover when the slower runners arrive and order, and on we go. It’s not a race, it’s festive fun. We encourage dressing up in Christmas colours and tutus.
The course is tried and true. We start again from the Fox Tavern but we will finish at the Good George tavern. (

It is a course of two-halves, this means that runners can join for the first half, the second, or the full marathon if you have a days leave pass. In previous years we arrived at the Fox at the halfway (20km) point at 1300 so if you plan to join for the second leg, aim for that time. All are welcome, we have faster runners and slower ones.

Pacing:as I mentioned, this is not a race, we won't leave anyone behind. Last year the marathon finishers concluded their run after 630PM. Book the day out, have some fun, afterall, it’s Christmas 🎄🎉🥳
We aim to have a slightly faster group and a slower one so we don't overload the pubs with ordering especially early on. Numbers are growing year on year so we may stagger groups and have the first group order as soon as they arrive then move on to the next pub before the first group finishes.
Drinks: the best Beerathon pint is of course Guinness (all of the daily vitamin needs in one glass) but runners can drink whatever they like as long as they have a drink every stop. Pls bring a mobile for an uber home.
H&S: it is important to hydrate Beer tends to dehydrate and as this is a summer marathon, we'd encourage you to take a glass of water each stop especially in the afternoon. Or wear a hydration pack. Or bring a small bag of electrolyte powder.
This event is a lot of fun. As our bodies are burning energy, you don't get drunk. We have a lot of laughs along the way. Legs between pubs take longer and longer :-)
Pls join us if you can, it’s a wonderful day out and a highlight run fir many who have come along in previous years.
