Time: We are adding an hour at the beginning of the program to increase our chances of avoiding rain. If you are planning to come later but it is raining, please still come. We will move activities indoors when necessary. 

Spray Down: Due to the recent lack of rain, the fire department will not be able to spray water at the event. Even with rain in the forecast over the next few days, these restrictions will likely remain in place through the event. We are so thankful for our firefighters and hope to bring this part of the event back next year!

Chance of Rain: After weeks of clear skies, we’re now keeping an eye on the weather forecast. But don’t worry! The Messtival will happen rain or shine! If the weather cooperates, we’ll be outside. If not, we’ve got tarps, vacuums, and space in the library ready to go!

Summer Reading Kickoff: Messtival! 

Get ready to dig in to this year’s Summer Reading theme, “Unearth a Story.” We will be kicking things off in the messiest way possible!

Join us on May 22nd from 3–5 PM at Whistlestop Park for our Summer Reading Kickoff Party: MESSTIVAL! ??

We’ll be “unearthing a mess” with tons of fun, hands-on, messy activities for kids of all ages. And the fire department will be stopping by to spray everyone down at the end! ??

Important: Wear clothing that can get stained and messy. You will get dirty!

Bring your friends, your sense of adventure, and get ready to make a mess as we kick off an exciting summer of stories and discovery. We can’t wait to see you there!
