Your Voices Were Heard!

After hearing from 73 SLC women via a 2024 survey, we are pleased to provide a contemplative retreat, Nurturing and Nourishing Body, Mind, and Spirit, the weekend of November 14-16, 2025. SLC's Women's Retreat Planning Committee took into consideration all the survey responses on suggested dates, locations, costs, and program content. Your voices were heard and we are excited to now invite SLC women to join us for a Fall 2025 Women's Retreat.

We hope you will be one of the 40 ladies who will make a 3-day commitment for your own self-care, spiritual nourishment, and connection with ladies from SLC. Retreat participants will enjoy private bedrooms, six meals, nature, art, music, meditation and presentations by powerful women from our own spiritual community. The Fall Women's Retreat is intended to be a time to be with supportive women and experience your inner peace and presence. We hope you will join us in celebrating the sacred feminine and wonder(ful) women.

More details about meals, transportation, accomodations, and program will be shared in the next few months, as we have more information.

What to Bring: Journal, warm clothes, personal reading, your heart and soul, and your presence.

If needed, a nonrefundable deposit of $100 can be made to secure retreat registration with final payment of $250 due by May 1st. (Balance due payments may be made in the Add On section on the registration page.)

Since SLC must sign a contract with the retreat center guaranteeing a minimum attendance months in advance, securing early registration fee commitments enables SLC to pay for the contract deposit and to budget for retreat expenses. Thank you for registering as early as possible so we can secure rooms for this event.

Once registration sells out, you can add yourself to the waitlist for this event for the chance to register if anyone cancels.

Accommodations:

All bedrooms are single-occupancy with either single or double beds, a sink, desk, wardrobe, and chair. (Photos of sample rooms provided in photo gallery below.) Towels, sheets and pillows are provided. Guests are asked to make their beds upon arrival and to remove used linens and place them in designated hampers before departing. If an extra blanket or pillow is desired, guests are encouraged to bring their own.

First Floor and Priority Access to Communal Bathrooms/Shower:

Retreat bedrooms are located both upstairs and downstairs. There are no elevators. Each bedroom comes with its own sink, but there are communal bathrooms/shower on each floor. If you need priority access to the bathrooms (i.e. want to be roomed as close as possible to the bathroom), at checkout you can select: "Yes, I request a room assignment that is as close as possible to a bathroom". After selecting Yes, you will be contacted by a member of the Women's Retreat Planning Committee so we can best accommodate your housing needs. Room assignments will be based on priority needs.

Room Keys:

Mercy Center Auburn does not typically provide keys to individual bedrooms since building is locked. However, individual bedroom keys are available upon request. Any participant who requests keys and does not return them when departing will be held liable for the cost to replace the lost keys.

Meals:

Registration includes six meals - Friday night dinner, 3 meals on Saturday, and breakfast and lunch on Sunday. Meal are served same time daily - breakfast from 7:30 to 9 a.m., lunch 12 to 1 p.m., and dinner 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. Coffee and tea are available during breaks at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. daily.

Mercy Center Auburn is committed to serving delicious, healthy food and strives to offer daily choices for people with a variety of dietary needs. They cannot support very specific individual dietary needs, so if you have a food allergy or intolerance, you are welcome to supplement meals by bringing some of your own food items. They have a refrigerator and microwave available for guest use.

Fragrance Free and Tobacco Free Environment:

Please help Mercy Center Auburn accommodate guests who are sensitive to perfumed fragrances and other scented products by refraining from the use of these products during your stay at the Center. Mercy Center Auburn is also a Tobacco-Free Environment 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. There is no smoking or other use of tobacco products in any part of the building or on the grounds of the Sisters of Mercy campus.

Room check in and retreat registration: 3 to 5 p.m. on Friday, November 14th. Participants may explore and enjoy the retreat center facilities and grounds until dinner is served from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. Retreat program will begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday evening.

Late Arrivals: We understand that some participants may be coming from work or may experience heavy traffic late Friday afternoon. Please notify us if you know you will need late check in or if you know ahead of time that you will be unable to join us for dinner Friday night. Planning committee can provide late check in and, if requested in advance, they can save you a dinner plate if you will arrive after dinner.

Sunday Check Out: Although the Women's Retreat officially ends at 2 p.m. on Sunday, all participants must check out of their private bedrooms, by 10 a.m. Sunday morning. Lunch is included on Sunday for all participants from 12 to 1 p.m.

1) What if I would like to invite a friend who is not a member of SLC?

If there are still spaces available after early bird registration ends on May 1st, registration will be opened to guests or friends of SLC members.

2) What if I can only stay one night or just come Saturday?

The consensus from our Women's Retreat survey was for a 3 day retreat which involves a time commitment to build connection, community, and confidentiality among participants. We do understand, however, that there may be extenuating circumstances that prohibit desired attendees from staying the full three days. Please contact retreat registrar Elaine or call SLC at (916) 448-6508 to see if reasonable accommodations can be made for your limited participation.

3) Will there be sponsorship opportunities for this event?

YES! SLC welcomes individuals in our spiritual and business communities to not only offset the direct expenses of the retreat but also to help fund SLC's mission to transform lives to make a positive difference in the world as we love, serve, and remember. 4) What if I want to RSVP by May 1st and do not have the entire payment?

You may make a $100 nonrefundable down payment before May 1st to secure your spot. If you are not able to pay the remaining balance ($250) of the Early Bird Registration Fee of $350 by May 1, you will have until July 1 to pay the remaining balance ($275) of the full price Registration Fee of $375.

5) What if I will not know until July where my life will be in these uncertain times?

It is completely understandable if you are uncertain about your plans for this year. Unfortunately, retreat centers book several months (if not years) in advance and also require contracts and deposits to secure their facility. SLC is asking for early commitments from those who can add it to their calendars so we will have an idea of whether or not we can sell out the 40 rooms available.

If we are not able to reach our goal of 40 participants, Mercy Center Auburn will be able to book remaining bedrooms and other meeting room spaces for other groups who may share the Retreat Center with us during our Women's Retreat weekend. We had over 73 women who indicated they wanted details on a 2025 Women's Retreat so you may want to register to secure one of the 40 rooms while you can. If you need to cancel you will be reimbursed based on Mercy Auburn's cancellation policy if we are unable to find a replacement for you.

6) What is your cancellation policy?

SLC’s Women’s Retreat cancellation will mirror Mercy Center Auburn's cancellation fee policy if registrant cancels retreat reservation.

Please note that the Eventbrite message showing refunds up to 7 days prior to event assumes that there is a substitute person on waitlist to take the place of the person cancelling the reservation. Otherwise, refund policy is as follows:

16 weeks or more prior: Only loss is nonrefundable deposit fee (if applicable)

13 to less than 16 weeks: 25% of total registration cost and any merchant fees

7 to 12 weeks prior: 50% of total registration cost and any merchant fees

6 weeks to 30 days prior: 75% of total registration cost and any merchant fees

less than 30 days prior: 100% of total registration (no refund)

7) What if weather is storming and I do not feel safe traveling?

While we expect there to be periodic Fall showers the second week of November, we are holding the intention that the weather will be similar as it was in November 2024 when members on the Women's Retreat Planning Committee did a site visit to take the photos shared on this page. The Planning Committee will provide more details to registered attendees as the retreat date draws nearer including reminder of facilities guidelines of maintaining a contemplative, and meditative retreat environment as well as driving directions and assistance with connecting registered participants who may want to carpool if there is concern about driving in stormy weather.
