Self-Defense:
This course consists of an 6-hour introduction to Self Defense on Saturday, March 7, followed by 5 - 1+ hour classes on the following Tuesdays. Rich Ohm will be your primary instructor. Since 2005, Rich has taught self-defense to over 37,000 people on 4 continents, spent 15 years in law enforcement, and is a SPEAR certified coach, multiple art black belt, less lethal and Master Firearms instructor.
This course, based upon Tony Blauer’s SPEAR system, will teach you how to use your natural reactions to protect yourself. This system is simple, effective, and efficient. The SPEAR is used by everyone from children and soccer moms through law enforcement and military special forces.
This course is appropriate for everyone ages 12 and up. We will cover the 3 D’s of self-defense (Detect, Defuse, and Defend), fear management, and include discussion of self-defense tools.
The Saturday seminar includes classroom discussion and physical drills.
The Tuesday classes will include coached repetition and escalation of the self-defense drills and concepts and will conclude with a scenario-based “test”.
Course fee is $150 for the full course, or $125 for the Saturday seminar. Partial scholarships may be available. Family discounts are available.
