Artist Shruti Ghatak grew up in Eastern India surrounded by terracotta temple reliefs. They were her first exposure to art and still inform her practice today. But temple reliefs are endangered--threatened by neglect, modernization, and a lack of preservation. Join us at the Postmark Center for the Arts for an engaging presentation about the history, symbolism and significance of this artform at risk. The presentation will be followed by discussion and Q&A with the artist, as well as examples of current work.
