Arrive early to peruse artwork by local artists, bring a poem to share during the open mic, and bring a poetry book to swap for a poetry book at our book exchange!
𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵'𝘀 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗼𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗼𝗲𝘁, 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲 (𝗞𝗮𝘁) 𝗗𝗶𝘇𝗼𝗻!
𝗙𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝗲𝘁'𝘀 𝗯𝗶𝗼:
Katherine (Kat) Dizon grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and has lived most of her adult life in Washington State, with brief stays in Indiana, Michigan, and Connecticut. Her poems have appeared in journals such as 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘰𝘯 𝘎𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘙𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘦𝘸, 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘲𝘶𝘺, 𝘎𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘔𝘢𝘯 𝘙𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘦𝘸, 𝘊𝘪𝘳𝘲𝘶𝘦, and 𝘊𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳.
Her first chapbook, "Somehow, here" was published by Finishing Line Press in 2025. She has a BA in Creative Writing and MAT in Elementary Education from University of Puget Sound, and MFA in Poetry from the Rainier Writing Workshop at Pacific Lutheran University. Katherine loves mothering her three kids and cat, Dexter. She feels most at home anywhere near water.
She was a member of Striped Water Poets, which was a poetry critique group that met in Auburn.
