In the Middle Ages, herbs, flowers, and perfumes were integral to daily life, intertwined with medicine and magic. Medicinal plants and herbs formed a major part of the pharmacopeia. Medical practice followed Hippocratic tradition. Treatments included various surgical interventions, using herbal preparations for anesthesia and wine as antiseptic. This presentation examines medieval healing techniques for the cure of multiple diseases.
