The first official workday for the renovation of Dell’s Trail kicks off Sunday, November 16th at 8:30 am at the wall ride by the entrance of the park. Bring water, snacks, and a friend and lets get to work!
What’s Happening:
We’ll be removing the decking on the Cobra Bridge, repairing a few of the structural supports, and starting to replace the decking.
Advanced Crew:
Zeb will be leading an advanced crew Saturday, November 15th, to get a head start on the bridge work.
What’s Next:
Once the Cobra Bridge is complete, the State Park Trail Crew will move in to recondition the trail and build a new hiker trail from the RV sites to the beach.
After that, we’ll reopen Dell’s Trail (keeping the Wall Ride closed) and schedule workdays to rebuild the Wall Ride next!
Huge shoutout to Jen W., the Park Manager who made this project possible. It’s an honor to work with Alabama State Parks on a project of this scale.
And of course, Zeb has been putting in tons of work behind the scenes to lead all the wood construction.
Let’s get this trail back better than ever!
