- **Event Description**: We are excited to welcome Sharon Zonker to the library for a presentation about an area family that lived during the 1860s. "A DeKalb County Family During the Civil War" will take place on Thursday, September 24th, at 2:00 pm, in the Assembly Room of the Main Library.

Sharon will tell us about the daily lives of Lewis Rude and his family, using information taken from his 1864 diary. This diary offers a wealth of information about rural DeKalb County life during the Civil War. The Rude family lived on Basket Factory Road outside of Butler. On display during the presentation will be local history artifacts and a quilt that Sharon created which features individual squares representing life in the area during the Civil War.

Following the presentation, attendees are invited to visit the Willennar Genealogy Center (across Jackson Street from the Main Library) to view the library's local and family history collections.
