Questions? Text Us: 469-806-7400

Six miles of winding river, towering trees, sandy beaches, hidden wildlife, and the first colors of fall unfolding along one of the most beautiful paddling corridors in North Texas.

This is the Greenbelt in a completely different mood.

As summer fades, the canopy begins shifting from deep green into shades of gold, amber, copper, and rust. The air gets cooler, wildlife gets more active, and the river becomes one long front-row seat to the changing season.

Our Fall Color Paddle is a relaxed, guided six-mile journey through the Elm Fork of the Trinity River and the Greenbelt Corridor, with plenty of time to explore, photograph, wildlife-watch, and simply enjoy being somewhere that feels remarkably far from DFW.

🍁 What: Guided 6-Mile Fall Color Paddle
📍 Where: 428 / Greenbelt Corridor
🛶 Rentals: Kayaks and paddleboards available by reservation
🍂 Why: Because Texas does have fall. You just have to know where to paddle for it.

🍁 THE ADVENTURE

Your day begins at the 428 launch with check-in, gear setup, and a quick safety briefing before we head downstream beneath the Greenbelt canopy.

Along the way, expect:

• Six scenic miles through the Greenbelt Corridor
• Changing fall foliage and towering river-bottom trees
• Sandy beaches and quiet river bends
• Historic Old Denton Bridge
• A relaxed lunch stop along the route
• Wildlife and bird-watching opportunities
• Plenty of photography stops
• A beginner-friendly pace
• Singles, couples, families, and groups welcome
• Rental kayaks and paddleboards available

This isn't a race.

We paddle at river speed, stop when something interesting appears, and leave room for the unexpected.

🦦 WILD THINGS

Fall is one of our favorite seasons for wildlife on the Greenbelt.

Keep your eyes on the banks, trees, sandbars, and sky for:

• River otters
• Beavers
• Great blue herons
• Egrets
• Belted kingfishers
• Red-tailed hawks
• Bald eagles
• Owls
• Turtles
• Fish and other river wildlife

Nothing is staged and nothing is guaranteed. That's part of the fun.

Every trip down the Greenbelt writes its own story.

📸 BRING THE CAMERA

Fall Color Paddle is especially good for photographers.

Between the changing canopy, reflections on the river, wildlife, Old Denton Bridge, sandy banks, and late-season light, there are opportunities around nearly every bend.

Phones are welcome. Fancy cameras are welcome. That waterproof case you've owned for three years and never used has finally found its moment.

🍂 WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT

• One of the most scenic paddling routes in North Texas
• A completely different Greenbelt experience from summer
• Cooler temperatures and beautiful fall light
• Great wildlife and photography opportunities
• Plenty of shade beneath the river canopy
• Beginner-friendly pace
• Perfect for solo paddlers, couples, friends, and families
• Small-group adventure without the crowds
• No passport, airport security, or six-hour drive required

🎒 WHAT TO BRING

• PFD
• Plenty of water
• Sunscreen
• Lunch and snacks
• Clothing that can get wet
• Water shoes or secure sandals
• Dry bag for valuables
• Phone or camera for photos
• A light layer if temperatures are cool

Rental paddlers will have their reserved equipment waiting for them.

🌊 A FEW PRO TIPS

Arrive early enough to check in and get your gear situated without turning the launch into an Olympic event.

Pack a real lunch. Six miles of paddling has a funny way of making that sad little granola bar look like a personal betrayal.

Bring binoculars if you're into birds and wildlife.

And don't spend the entire paddle staring at the nose of your board.

Look up.

Somewhere between the first bend, the old bridge, the rustling canopy, and whatever decides to swim across the river that day, you'll remember why we keep coming back here.

🍁 PADDLE INTO FALL

There are only a handful of weeks each year when the Greenbelt begins putting on its fall colors.

We intend to be on the water for them.

Rental kayaks and paddleboards are limited, and advance reservations are strongly recommended.

Grab your paddle, pack your lunch, bring your camera, and come chase fall with us through the Greenbelt. 🍂🛶
