ADVOCATING AT THE CAPITOL
Join The Arc Georgia for a day at the Capitol where we will advocate for the issues important to our communities! There will be a brief advocacy training and our chapters will be recognized in both the House and Senate.
The Arc Georgia is committed to addressing food insecurity in our community. At the event, we are also supporting Intown Collaborative Ministries through a food drive. Please help by bringing a canned food item to donate.
9:00-10:00am Advocacy Updates/Training
10:00-11:00am Recognition in House and Senate (timing subject to change based on schedule of House and Senate)
11:00-12:30pm Meet with your Senators and Representatives by "working the ropes"
Are there ID requirements to enter the event?
A photo ID is required to enter the State Capitol building.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Take Blue line to Georgia State MARTA Transit station and use the MLK Jr. Drive exit. Head down Capitol Ave SE for about 1.5 blocks. Take a left on Capitol Sq SW. The accessible entrance to the State Capitol is located off Capitol Square SW.
The cost of parking varies lot but is at minimum $10 and can be up to approximately $20. To pay, you must have either the exact change or a credit/ debit card.

What can I bring into the event?
Water bottles and lights snacks are allowed through Capitol security. Weapons are not allowed in the State Capitol building. Please leave all weapons such as knives, guns, pepper spray, etc. at home.
