Through a moving theatrical reenactment, the program journeys from the rich heritage of Ancient Royal African and Indigenous origins, through the trials of the Transatlantic Slave Trade, the courage of the Underground Railroad, the determination of the Civil Rights Movement, and into the achievements and contributions shaping modern society today.Rooted in the theme Honoring the Past, Engaging the Present, and Inspiring the Future… And Yet We Rise, the event reflects the strength, perseverance, and continued rise of a people whose story is woven into the fabric of history and progress.Through storytelling, performance, reflection, and inspiration, And Yet We Rise invites participants to remember, to honor, and to carry forward the legacy of resilience—celebrating not only how far we have come, but the promise of where we are going.A special highlight of the program features Dr. Carlton Donald, Founder and CEO of Phigenix, Inc., whose work focuses on advancing treatment and improving positive patient outcomes for prostate and breast cancer. His presence underscores the ongoing impact of leadership, innovation, and service within the community today.Local artist Steven Carroll of Inspired Community Creations will present the timeline of our progression in artform for the younger audience (Ages 5-10) as they paint and listen to historic storytelling detailing key figures in our history from the Ancient African King of Mali ,Mansu Musa(known as the wealthiest man who ever lived)to other heros of the abolitionist and civil rights movements that demonstrate inspiration and reilience throughout our history.Guided by the theme Honoring the Past, Engaging the Present, and Inspiring the Future… And Yet We Rise, the event reflects the strength, perseverance, and continued rise of a people whose story continues to shape history.Time Periods CoveredAncient African Royal & Indigenous HistoryTransAtlantic Slave TradeUnderground RailroadCivil Rights MovementModern Day LegAgenda?: 05:00 PM - 08:45 PMPrivate Tour DetailsInfo: Agenda for the Tour and Program are as follows: Registration
