- **Event Description**: Emmy award-winning artist Doudgy Charmant, in collaboration with African Peach Arts Coalition, presents, HEIRLOOM.About this EventDoudgy Charmant is exhibiting his project ‘Heirloom’ at the Brooklyn Art Cave this month, October. ‘Heirloom’ explores themes of family, legacy, Haitian heritage, and honoring through Black figurative painting.Charmant is a Haitian born and Maryland based artist who creates acrylic paintings on canvas in a figurative fantasy style with Haitian folk impressions. His background as a muralist influences his preference for large scale paintings, as seen in this art show.The group exhibition features four additional artists chosen by Charmant himself, including his late father Ralph Bricene Charles emulating these themes in their art. Heirloom is inspired by Charles’ art journey and his son Charmant’s continuation and honoring of his father’s legacy.Charmant was selected as the pilot artist for APAC’s (African Peach Arts Coalition) new 345 accelerator program of 2025. In this program the artist received support from APAC over the year to share their project in a public showcase and artist talk. Among the artists participating: Doudgy Charmant (Haiti), Jerome Sudi or Paradise Vibing (Washington D.C.), Ralph Bricene Charles (Haiti), Roussel Dat, and Robel Solomon (Ethiopia
