- **Event Start and End Date**: Sun, 04 Oct, 2026 at 06:30 pm – Sun, 04 Oct, 2026 at 08:00 pm (-04:00)
- **Event Description**: Making Kin is a people-processional live-art project created by vocalist Monique Osorio, choreographer Lauri Stallings, and musician Kebbi Williams. It explores the poetics of intimacy, social touch, and the weight of shared physical spaces through sculptural performance and the live moment. The work activates American artist Lonnie Holley’s album, “Keeping a Record of It” (2016) as a site to extend from the past to create a portal to new perspectives, community, and what’s left behind. It travels down the Southwest Trail to the Lee St. Bridge before looping back.

A cast of artists from Atlanta Improviser Orchestra Choir and gloATL will perform move, chant, and feel alongside elements of the natural world, inviting us to observe how we resemble, influence, and attune to one another. Named for Donna Haraway’s 2016 book, Making Kin in the Chthulucene, earth (chthulu) and new kind (cene) is the act of not being able to think of ourselves as disconnected from the rest of life on earth. It’s also referred to as “staying with the trouble,” as spoken by the late Georgia warrior John Lewis.
