Atlanta Art - Where to find creative solace in the city?

Atlanta's art is spread over its various museums and art centres. Atlanta's art museums are a great place to start, and you can begin at the High Museum of Art Atlanta. There is a permanent collection which includes more than 15,000 artworks inside the museum.

One of the top art galleries in the city, the Alan Avery Art Company, was founded in 1981 in a downtown warehouse. Located at Miami Circle, this gallery is the oldest sustained gallery for art in the city. It features work from technically proficient and exciting artists in and around the region.

The Woodruff Arts Center is another performing arts centre in Atlanta. It houses three divisions for art that are all non-profit. It was opened in 1969 and is home to the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, High Museum of Art and the Alliance Theatre.

In the West Midtown district, you can find the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center which is dedicated to the presentation, creation and curation of contemporary art by established artists.
