The Art Writing & Publishing Symposium will examine post-Covid realities, current threats to independent voices, and definitions of success and sustainability. This program will emphasize a “real-talk” approach of transparency, vulnerability, and storytelling to foster honest conversations and meaningful connections with people interested in exploring the strategies and complexities of sustaining art writing, art criticism and publishing.
🗓️ Date and Time: September 26–28, 2025

The 3-Day Pass covers entry to all symposium speaker sessions, a single-day pass to Atlanta Art Fair (a $35 value), access to hotel partnership discounts, and complimentary coffee and snacks, as well as access to RSVP/limited capacity events, including a Mildred Thompson home+studio tour, a film screening at the Plaza Theater, and a cocktail reception in partnership with Soho House.
The symposium will present speakers who represent some of the most innovative, sustainable, and renowned voices in art writing and publishing. Symposium conversations will revolve around three guiding questions: What Models?—how arts writing is funded and sustained; What Forms?—what we produce and how; and What Audiences?—who we’re writing for, and why it matters.
