Regain the balance of an efficient musculoskeletal system allowing greater freedom of choice in your thoughts and actions!
UNFOLD is a movement and awareness training with the Alexander Technique as a springboard. It allows the integral development of the self through movement and dance.
These intense days are an opportunity to learn the key principles of Unfold Method with the founder, Valentina Bordenave and experience its five elements: TERRA, MOBILE, LUDENS, INEXPECTATUS and NOMINE.
UNFOLD approaches movement without aesthetic preference and opens up a safe space for experimentation where undesirable professional habits start to fade away. Supportive improvisation tools help liberate the body and open it up for new inspiration. Unfold also helps ensure sustainability of creative experience for a long artistic career through healthy body and mind attitudes.
The invitation is to experience an infinite source of gentle strength and powerful softness, redefining and enjoying how we relate to our fantasy, to music, to each other in the space.
VALENTINA BORDENAVE is a freelance dancer, choreographer, mentor and certified Alexander Technique teacher from Argentina based in Berlin. She graduated in dance from the Folkwang University and is the founder of UNFOLD method.
Valentina has been creating works since an early age individually or collectively with dancers, theatre directors and video artists such as: Familie Flöz, Uli M. Schüppel, Mikel Aristegui, Julie Beauvais, and Iván Marino. Her artistic and pedagogical work has been particularly inspired by her studies with dance artists Julyen Hamilton, Hannes Langolf and Katie Duck, among others.
She is a member of the core pedagogical teams of the Familie Flöz theatre company and of Arthaus Berlin - Postgraduate Training and Research Centre for Devised Theatre and Performance in collaboration with Columbia College Chicago and Rose Bruford College London. Further pedagogical activity includes the Inter-University Centre for Dance HZT Berlin, Acting Department at the University of the Arts Berlin (UDK) and Hochschule für Schauspielkunst “Ernst Busch”. She also provides training to companies such as Sasha Waltz & Guest and Colette Sadler.
