This annual event, where the Alabama State Fiddle Champion is crowned (along with the top winner in over a dozen other categories being crowned Alabama State Champions) brings some 200 contestants and an estimated 10,000+ folk music fans to the grounds of historic Athens State University in Athens, Alabama the first full weekend of October each year.

We have an incredible lineup for y'all this year!

*Wednesday, September 30 at 7:30 PM: The Larry Sparks Show
(This is a special Gospel concert - FREE and open to the public)

*Thursday, October 1 at 7:00 PM: Mike Compton & Andy Todd, followed by Dale Ann Bradley

*Friday, October 2 at 6:00 PM: The Isaacs

*Saturday, October 3 at 7:30 PM: The Del McCoury Band

Also at the convention, area craftsmen display their arts and crafts at the annual arts and crafts fair held in conjunction with the musical competition, offering unique and custom-made souvenirs.

*Nanny’s Old Fashion Lemonade Craft Vendor Area, with over 150 craft vendors offering unique and custom-made souvenirs.

*The Pepsi Food Court, featuring over a dozen food vendors offering a wide variety of delicious food.

*The Jerry McGlocklin Music Store is located in the Sandridge Hall Ballroom. The Music Store features vendors selling instruments and accessories.

*A Tribute to the Delmore Brothers will be on display at the Nazaretian Alumni Welcome Center.

*The Fiddlers Museum is located on the ground floor of McCandless Hall.
